Children, adults and dentists across the globe will be taking part in activities on Sunday 20 March to raise awareness of World Oral Health Day.
Healthy mouth. Healthy body.
A staggering 90% of the world’s population will suffer from oral health diseases in their lifetime. Whether that’s tooth decay, gum disease or mouth cancer, problems that affect our mouths can cause other health and confidence issues. But you can change that.
At Number 18, we want you to use this World Oral Health Day to make a long-term commitment to your oral health.
How can I get involved?
- Book your next dental check-up
Regular check-ups can prevent tooth decay in you and your children, highlight changes in your mouth, and are an opportunity for you to discuss your oral health concerns with your dentist.
- Cut back on sugary foods
Plan the time of day you’re allowed to eat them, if at all. You could try before your evening meal or only on weekends. Your waistline and your mouth will thank you!
- Get involved as a family
Teamwork is a fun and sure-fire way to succeed, which could save you all time, stress and money in the long run. Follow our steps to ensure you brush properly. Other tips include chewing sugar-free gum or rinsing with mouthwash twice a day after eating.
- Give your mouth a spring clean
World Oral Health Day falls at the same time as the spring equinox, making this a great time to commit to regular dental hygienist visits. This can help tackle problems early while giving you a clean, healthy smile. For deeper TLC, consider one of our teeth whitening services.
