Whiten your teeth safely in Notting Hill

Teeth whitening

Everyday life can take its toll on our teeth. If you’d like to give your smile a helping hand we have options available to whiten your teeth.

Whitening your teeth is a conservative way of improving your smile over a period of a few weeks. We offer two different home teeth whitening treatments: Enlighten and Opalescence. The former is a combination of home and practice-based treatment, while Opalescence is a complete home treatment.

Teeth whitening options

Enlighten teeth whitening

Enlighten involves a combination of in-home and in-surgery whitening. Custom made trays are worn at home over night to whiten your teeth for a period of 14 days. You will then return to the practice for a one hour bleaching session at the surgery.

Teeth whitening FAQs

  • How can I stop my teeth from discolouring?

Discolouration is a natural part of life, but things like keeping a close eye on your dietary habits, giving up smoking and maintaining a good level of oral health can all help.

  • Will teeth whitening hurt?

Patients may experience some sensitivity during whitening, but this will fade shortly after. Our dentist will discuss techniques to reduce any sensitivity.

  • How long do whitening results last?

As with every procedure, results vary from patient to patient and depend on factors such as diet, general oral health and smoking. Top up maintenance every night for 2 months is recommended to maintain a good result.

  • Is home teeth whitening safe?

Yes, as long as it’s done under dental professional guidance and within specific time periods.

  • What happens if I have fillings, crowns, bridges or veneers?

Fillings, crowns, bridges and veneers do not change colour with whitening treatments because they are colour matched to your teeth. If you want a filling, crown, bridge or veneer to match your whiter teeth they may need to be replaced after teeth whitening.
